Illustration for the #girlgoals campaign by UNICEF in occasion of International Women's Day
THE CHALLENGE
UNICEF invited me to contribute to their #girlgoals campaign, a powerful initiative focused on empowering 15-year-old girls to dream big and overcome their fears. For International Women’s Day, they wanted an activation that would inspire young girls and encourage engagement on social media. While the brief focused on delivering illustrations with a meaningful message, I saw an opportunity to take it further. Instead of only speaking to 15-year-olds, I wanted to create something that would connect my audience to their younger selves. I developed the idea of bridging generations, using illustration to spark a conversation between who we were then and who we are now. My goal was to capture that mix of hope, uncertainty and resilience that defines being 15 while inviting women to reflect on the advice they would give to their younger selves.

How might I use illustration to create a personal and relatable connection between an audience and a campaign’s message?
THE OUTCOME
I created a series of three illustrations that were shared as a joint post on Instagram for International Women’s Day. Each illustration visually expressed the emotions of being 15, while also acting as a reflection point for a wider audience. By integrating UNICEF’s corporate colors into my personal style, I ensured the artwork remained true to the campaign’s identity while adding a unique and personal touch. The illustrations encouraged self-reflection and conversation, transforming a simple campaign post into something interactive and deeply relatable. This project was not just about providing artwork for a campaign but about using illustration to create a dialogue, invite engagement and make empowerment feel personal.
